Center for Public Secrets: TULSA VOTES 2024

Served as Creative Director, Exhibition and Graphic Designer, and Researcher for an exhibit about voter education for the Center for Public Secrets in Tulsa, OK.

While designing, it was crucial to keep all elements nonpartisan and accessible. Candidate photos appear solid black and white from a distance but convert into halftone the closer one looks, allowing visitors to focus on candidate bios. Each City Council District was represented as a scale-drawn map, defining its North/South and East/West street boundaries.

To bring in a tactile element, a DIY voting booth was created to be placed near the exhibit entrance. It was used to hold copies of a voting information handout.

GOLDSMITH / SMITH

Proposed exhibit for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame that would tell the story of the decades-long friendship between creative Patti Smith and photographer Lynn Goldsmith.

First image contains process sketches and inspirations.

SCENTED MEMORIES

This interactive pop-up would be installed in a parking lot where visitors would be asked to select a test tube containing the scent and memory of a stranger.

ARCHITECTURE AS SCULPTURE

Formed steel beams have been regularly spaced to create bound and unbound spaces within this occupiable object space.

Visitors would be asked to interact with the objects/sculptures by looking through the spaces left between beams and by walking in, out, and around the forms themselves.

CONNECTIVITY THROUGH OVERLAP

Designed with the area’s historic New Bauhaus movement ideology in mind, this proposed community art center would present a sense of community through a series of overlaps.

Overlaps would serve as gathering spaces on every floor. They would connect all of the studios. Transparent double-height spaces would connect visitors to spaces below. The form of the building itself would create overlapping areas of exterior space.

INHABITING THE WALL

Reading nook designed to be placed within a library window. It would accommodate the human body to provide natural comfort and light for long-term reading.

First slide contains study models, exploring different configurations for the nook. Second slide contains a section perspective drawing and final model photos.
